Make a scene in your garden with this magnificent vine of jubilation! The Carnival Clematis boasts large 5-6" blooms of dusty blue/purple blossoms with a dark lavender stripe down the center of each petal, and butter yellow stamens that really make a statement.

This clematis will bloom in May through June, and is considered a division 2 clematis. Pruning should occur in late winter or early Spring. To prune this clematis you will want to remove any scraggly or dead shoots. After you have cleaned up any unwanted branches and tendrils, you will want to cut what remains back to 6-9", making sure there are several hearty buds that remain below.

Pruning Group B. Prune out weak/broken stems in late Winter/early Spring.

Hopefully not premature, but giving this 5 stars because it arrived with signs of life. I waited a little while to plant it as I didn't yet have a trellis for it to climb. But it seems to be doing fine, and hopefully will continue to grow up the trellis and bloom soon!

    Pros:
    • good price
    Cons:
Healthy though a little smaller than some of the other clematis ordered, it's growing well and hope to see blooms next spring.

As usual, HBF sent a flourishing starter that was ready to go in the ground. Looking forward to having it interspersed between my red trumpet vine.
