    Pre-Potted Amaryllis Growing Instructions

The ideal growing location for this pre-potted amaryllis is one that receives some sun throughout the day. Amaryllis will grow and bloom in very low light settings as well.

Water 1 cup or less until blooms forms. If the soil is moist, do not add additional water. Once blooms appear water may be increased, however only add water when the soil is completely dry.

Expect multiple blooms per stem to appear from the pre-potted amaryllis. Once the blooms have faded cut the stem back to level with the top of the container. The amaryllis may bloom 2-3 more times the season it was first received.

Once the amaryllis has started to grow only leaves it is finished blooming for the year.

How to Get my Amaryllis to bloom again?

Cut off the leaves from bulb. Remove the bulb from the pot and soil it is planted in. Store the bulb in a paper bag in cool, dry, and dark location. Avoid storing the bulb in extreme heat or cold.

In late September to early October prepare to wake up the bulb for growth and blooms. Take the amaryllis out of the bag and plant the bulb in soil, add water and sun. Gradually expose the potted amaryllis to sun to help keep the growth balanced. Within 6-8 weeks new blooms will appear on your amaryllis.

I sent this as a Christmas gift to my mother. She loves it! Every week I get pictures of what the amaryllis are doing, growing, budding, blooming. They are gorgeous! They arrived well packaged, with leaves and some already had buds. They started growing immediately. 2 of them are blooming and the 3rd has buds. She is very pleased with them. I'm happy that she likes them so much!

Gave these to my co-workers for holiday gifts. We enjoyed seeing the different growth rates before blooming . Packing was simple but festive, I just added a bow. All arrived in good condition. Very happy with my purchase!

    Pros:
    • Great blooms
    • already potted
    • good price
    • multiples
    Cons:
I normally give amaryllis to family members & friends as "holiday magic" at the start of the season and these potted trios were a great way to continue that tradition! The fact that the bulbs were already potted with dirt was very helpful and worth the slightly higher price. Everyone has really enjoyed them and we have had fun texting photos to each other every week (we don't live in the same state) to see whose is growing the fastest. I will definitely be a repeat customer next year!

One of the 6 plants has not bloomed - nothing but leaves. The other 5 plants have done very well. They seem to do better when I transfer them to large pots. One plant will end up with 9 blooms which is amazing.
