Ramona Clematis has lavender blue blooms with red stamens through July, August and September. This clematis features pale blue flowers that can be up to 7" in diameter which really make for a nice show!
Clematis fall into 3 different pruning groups for optimal blooms. Ramona is a type 3 clematis, which means it blooms BEST on new wood. Remove all old growth (Late April or Early May)each spring to allow the new growth to flourish and provide for a bounty of blooms. To prune this type of clematis remove all top growth down to the base of the previous seasons growth, to allow for new stems, leaves, buds and blooms.
Pruning Group B. Prune out weak/broken stems in late Winter/early Spring.
