Early Crosby Egyptian Beet are a favorite table variety. Grows well in both fall and spring planting. Try fresh from the garden or canned. Beets will grow to the size of a baseball, but they are best harvested the size of a golf ball. Great in containers. Easy to grow. Matures in 55 days.
Garden Tip: Plant beets in a full-sun location in well-drained soil. If no rain falls for 7 to 10 days, apply 1" of water; beets that develop in dry weather will be fibrous and woody.
