Bearded Iris are deer resistant and long lasting perennial flowers. They thrive in full sun and soil that drains well. Plant the rhizome (bulb) no more than 1-2" below the soil surface, leaving part of the rhizome slightly exposed above ground. Water after planting, and leave dormant until spring when growth appears. Blooms will appear in late spring to early summer. After the blooms fade cut back the faded flowers, and cut the leaves back to 6" above ground level.
