    I'm really Optimistic!

    Pros:
    • Good quality tubers
    Cons:
    • Tubers separated so tricky to plant
All 3 tubers grew within 3 weeks - I planted this on a bed facing the east. It is one of the best areas to grow flowers in my yard.
I prepared the section with peat moss, garden soil, and cow manure and compost, and after planting the tubers, I spread some Preen around them. The flower bed gets a lot of sun and I have been watering almost everyday. I planted the tubers at the end of June and although I do not see buds yet, I am optimistic that I would see some blooms before fall.

All my dahlia tubers were very healthy. Planted in mid July in a sandy area I've set aside as a pollinator garden, they've all formed foot tall shrubby growth. We've had 90-100 temps and no rain since the day they were planted, so I'm very pleased they are doing great. I look forward too seeing them bloom in fall before the weather finally cools.
