Deep, sultry red blooms are rich and velvety in appearance. Queen of Night Amaryllis are jumbo 40/42 cm bulbs which will produce multiple large 4-6" blooms on tall 20-24" stems. For best results, plant your amaryllis bulb so that 1-2" of the bulb can be seen above the soil. Also, be sure to keep the soil slightly moist but not too damp; only water when the soil completely dries out.

    *Shipping starts mid-November.*

Select a pot to plant the amaryllis bulb in. An ideal pot is 6” in diameter with drain holes at the bottom. Add soil, such as potting soil meant for container planting to the pot about ½ way up the pot. Place the amaryllis bulb in the soil with the pointed end facing up. Fill in the pot on the sides of the amaryllis bulb with the remaining soil. Water after planting to reduce air pockets.

Amaryllis tolerate dry conditions but will benefit from regular watering especially as stems and buds form.

Amaryllis tolerate a range of light conditions and can be grown in a sunny location, but will also bloom in low light settings.

Expect 2-3 bloom cycles from the amaryllis bulb in your growing kit.

Once the amaryllis produces only leaves and no stems it is finished blooming for the season.

To get your amaryllis to bloom again:

After removing the wax from the bulb. Cut off the leaves from bulb. Remove the bulb from the pot and soil it is planted in. Store the bulb in a paper bag in cool, dry, and dark location. Avoid storing the bulb in extreme heat or cold.

In late September to early October prepare to wake up the bulb for growth and blooms. Take the amaryllis out of the bag and plant the bulb in soil, add water and sun. Gradually expose the potted amaryllis to sun to help keep the growth balanced. Within 6-8 weeks new blooms will appear on your amaryllis.

    Gorgeous deep red blooms

    Pros:
    • beautiful color
    Cons:
    • slightly sickly bulb
This bulb arrived not quite as healthy as many of the others I've received. It produced a single flower stalk fairly quickly after potting it, with a hint of another stalk forming. The first stalk of flowers grew fairly short and this bulb isn't labeled as a nymph. Much shorter than all of my other bulbs. The first stalk had 4 flowers and bloomed a gorgeous deep red color, just stunning. They are going to seed now. In the meantime the other stalk has managed to grow, albeit shorter than the first stalk, and has buds emerging from the stalk now and should open in a day or 2.

This plant was so, so beautiful, dark red with almost black streaks. The bulb was lovely and healthy and produced 3 flower stapes, each with 4 flowers. Came as part of a package, very good value for price.

    Love the color!

Very large bulb that gave two large and one small flower stems. Each large stem produced four large flowers. The color was really unique, dark red with velvety looking under light. Very happy with it.
