    • Hyacinths prefer a sunny planting location
    • Plant hyacinths in well-drained soil; amend the soil with organic matter such as compost, manure or peat moss.
    • The skin of hyacinths can cause a minor allergic skin reaction in some people. We suggest using gloves when handling your hyacinth bulbs.
    • Plant hyacinth bulbs 6-8” deep, for strong root growth dig out the entire planting area 15” deep, back fill with amended soil to 6-8” and plant your hyacinth bulbs, back fill with remaining soil.
    • Space hyacinth bulbs 6-8”.
    • Water the planting area immediately after planting to eliminate air pockets. Hyacinths are very sensitive to rotting, any additional water in fall or winter is not suggested.
    • Apply a thick 2-3” layer of organic mulch to the planting area in mid to late fall.

This fall, I purchased a ridiculous amount of bulbs in hopes for an amazing spring presentation. Every year, I only order from Holland Bulbs and it doesn’t disappoint. I also order for my mother’s yard as her Mother’s Day present. All the bulbs were healthy and nice.

Nice large quality bulbs as usual. Only one was rotten out of 120 I ordered. The rest looked to be very healthy. Used them in a landscape design for a friend with hopes they will be healthy in spring.

    Pros:
    • Very nice color
    • Tall and Full
    Cons:
    • Packaging has only a product number
I'm significantly disabled, and hadn't even tried to garden, including maintaining what I planted while was very able. After stumbling on a contraption I can use to do some gardening, I started with bulbs...lots and lots of them. I have had hyacinths in the past, was always happy with them, so I got 5 different varieties and planted them on a corner of my patio with this being right at the corner, alternating 5 hyacinths, 4 crocus, 7 tulips, 4 crocus, going along both sides from that corner. These were first to show buds of the hyacinths, and a couple days later, are almost fully formed. Very nice to see where they are as the rest of everything comes to bloom.
The only con I have is that the packaging has difficult to see information and only the product number, no color, nothing else. I got multiple packs so it was important to me to know what was what while I was planting, so I had to create a workaround to get my planting plan to work correctly.
