Dreaming of the tropics but you live in a colder climate? We've got the perfect solution! Introducing our Hardy Hibiscus Red! Hardy Hibiscus helps bring that tropical feel even into Zone 4 climates! This Hibiscus Duo produces large, disc shaped red flowers that will last from mid-Summer into Fall! Not only do these plants produce impressive blooms, but they are also deer resistant, attractive to pollinators and can tolerant hot, humid weather conditions. Hardy Hibiscus do prefer moist soil and protected from windy conditions but will adapt to drier soil conditions once established. Once dormant, we recommend leaving the stems in tact over Winter. This will help protect the root system and also provide an area for birds to perch. In the Spring, the stems can then be cut back to 2-3" above the soil level.
