Add some unique color and texture to your shade garden with our Black and Gold Ornamental Grass Duo!  This duo contains 1 pre-potted Black Mondo Grass and 1 pre-potted All Gold Japanese Forest Grass, (Hakonechloa macra).  The dark foliage of the Black Monday contrasts beautifully with the the bright, golden yellow foliage of the Japanese Forest Grass.  Both of these varieties require part shade, preferring morning sun and afternoon shade.   Both varieties form a neat, compact mound of foliage, the Japanese Forest growing 14-16" tall and the Black Mondo reaching 12" tall.  Plant together to create an eye-catching border in your shade loving perennial garden!  But wait, there's more!  The Black Mondo Grass will produce small pink blooms in late Summer that are followed by near black berries in the Fall.  The All Gold Japanese Forest Grass will have tiny green flowers late Summer and into Fall.  We do recommend leaving the foliage in tact over the Winter months to help protect the root system from cold temperatures.  They can then be pruned in  Spring to 1-2" above the soil level to help promote new growth.

The Black and Gold Ornamental Grass Duo includes two 3-4" growers pots with established plants already growing and ready to plant!  This duo includes the following:

1   All Gold Japanese Forest Grass (Hakonechloa macra) planted in a 3-4" grower pot
1   Black Mondo Grass planted in a 3-4" grower pot
