Big Top Horseradish is a tough perennial herb that grows from a root. Thriving in full-sun to light-shade, horseradish will grow in just about any soil as long as the soil is not water-saturated. Big Top Horseradish will die back in the fall and re-emerge in spring where hardy. This long lived perennial herb can be used to spice up mustard, dressings, and cocktail sauce as well as having other culinary uses.

Plant the horseradish roots in full sun, and soil that drains well. The root should be planted as deep as the root is long. The top of the root will be square, the bottom of the root should have an angled cut. Plant the square cut side of the root facing up. The top of the root should be about 2" below the soil surface. Cover them with a ridge of soil, approximately 4" high.

This horseradish root took a few weeks to sprout but I have already harvested the first leaves for pickled cucumbers. I am very pleased with my purchase.

Decided to add horseradish to my edible garden this year. The root has several tall leaves now, and looks very healthy.

I am amazed at the growth of this horseradish root. Excellent addition to my perennial veggie garden. I read that the roots spread and multiply quickly. I will keep this contained. I've had for 2 weeks and it's growing.
