An absolute stunner! The Julia Rose Itoh Peony is a diverse late spring blooming perennial. Large 7" diameter blooms appear in May and June. Itoh hybrid peonies have strong sturdy stems that support the large blooms, therefore not requiring staking. Julia Rose will bloom in shades of pink, peach, with yellow and apricot tones in the petals and stamens of the blooms.
What is an Itoh Hybrid Peony?
Itoh Hybrid Peonies often also referred to as Intersectional Peonies are a cross between herbaceous peonies and tree peonies. Hybridized in 1948 by Japanese horticulturalist Dr. Toichi Itoh. Itoh hybrids share characteristics from both types of peonies, strong sturdy stems from the tree peonies, and lush green lobed foliage from the herbaceous peonies.
