Aquilegia, also known as Columbine, are one of the most unique biennial with blooms that resemble the delicate features of hummingbirds. Add a rainbow of vibrant colors to your sunny garden with this mix of blue, purples, reds, yellows, pinks and whites. The distinctive bell-shaped petals with extended spurs will attract a plethora of pollinators to your Summer garden! We do recommend starting Aquilegia Seeds indoors in and do require cold stratification before they will germinate. To do this, place Seeds in a plastic bag with damp peat moss or sand and refrigerate for about 3-4 weeks. Once they have received enough chill time, you can then plant indoors in a seed tray or sow right outside in well-drained soil. Although Aquilegia started from seed can take 2-3 seasons to bloom, they are definitely worth the wait! Once established, Columbine are low-maintenance and can self seed, creating a garden full of fragrant, gorgeous blooms!
