I received a big bulb last fall and planted. It started coming out very early Spring (before Tulips) and grew tall very fast. Now it has bell-shaped bright orange flowers, which have been blooming for almost 2-3 wks (color changed from light green to orange.) It definitely brightens up the garden while most of perennials are still half asleep in the ground.

I grew these for the first time last year and was quite amused by this very showy, strange plant! It looks like it belongs in a Dr. Seuss book! They definitely smell a bit skunky but not terribly strong. I planted 4 more this fall which all came up but unfortunately the ones from last year did not come back. Glad I got them on a BOGO deal this year--its a bit pricy for a flower that does not perennialize.
