The black barlow columbine did grow in my garden when I planted it (2024). Hoping for it to bloom in 2025.
Got this and planted it in a pot to start with. Has made progress to the point I have 3 stems with leaves. Not sure if it will amount to much this year but very hopeful for next season
This set of roots was small but it was the first to bloom even though it was the tiniest one I received.
When these arrived in my mailbox, they were bone dry and had sprouted one little fist of leaves that were wilted. I wasn't holding my breath, but got them soaking and in the ground, and they bounced right back. Every day I look there is noticeable new growth, and they didn't seem bothered in the least by our mid-May snowstorms or unusually cold weather. The foliage grows in significantly darker than my other columbines, but as it gets larger and older, it turns a more traditional green (I think the dark purplish leaves look good). It hasn't bloomed yet, but the way it's going, I would expect it to this year.
Received as a very little plant, looked like bean sprouts. But a little tender care, and, it bloomed just as promised!
