We had a large bleeding heart plant in my childhood flowerbed so I’m very excited to grow my own. This is the first time I’ve planted bare roots before so I wasn’t sure what end was what. I just dug a hole and plopped them in so we’ll see if I did it right. Very excited for these plants to grow.
I am a fairly experienced gardener but just moved to a new location with a lot of shade, which is a brand new experience for me. I want to attract hummingbirds and ordered these bleeding hearts. I planted them right away (bareroots) and much to my surprise, less than a month later, I already have blooms on one of the plants. I'm impressed!
I planted these in a partially shaded front garden area surrounding the house that also includes azalea, a Japanese Maple, a holly and a huge hydrangea. The older plants shade the bleeding hearts perfectly and they are all up and thriving. No blooms yet, but they're not ready.
Probably one of the largest and healthiest plants I have ever bought. They looked like normal bare roots with some small growth on arrival. Popped them into shady, deer habitat, slope and they loved it. The plants have grown fast and large. Great value for the high quality plants.
I have purchased two different varieties of miniature hosts and bleeding hearts recently. I am very pleased with the ease of ordering. The bare root plants came in great shape and are of great quality. And the prices are fantastic, much less than my neighborhood nursery.
